Who we are
Victory Safaris Botswana (“we”, “us”) is a mobile safari operator based in Maun, Botswana. This policy explains what personal information we collect through victorysafaris.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. You can reach us at info@victorysafaris.com or on +267 76 997 204.
What we collect
- Enquiries and bookings. When you use an enquiry or booking form we collect what you type: your name, email address, phone number, preferred destination, number of guests, travel dates, trip length and your message.
- Reviews. If you submit a review, we collect your name and what you write. Reviews are published only after we approve them.
- Messages. If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
- Website usage (only if you accept). With your permission, Google Analytics records which pages you view, which device and browser you use, your approximate location, how you found us, and whether you click our WhatsApp, phone or email links.
- Security data. Our hosting and security services process technical details such as your IP address to keep the site working and to block spam and abuse.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange your trip.
- To publish approved reviews and improve how the site works (analytics, only with your consent).
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam.
- To keep records we are required to keep by law.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
When you first visit, a notice asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing is measured until you click Accept. If you click Decline, Google Analytics does not store analytics cookies on your device. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your choice is saved in your browser. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Our forms may also use a security check from Cloudflare that sets a short-lived technical cookie to tell people and bots apart.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run the site and handle your information on our behalf:
- Cloudflare – website hosting, security and image delivery.
- Supabase – database and file storage, where enquiries and website content are kept.
- Email delivery and mailbox providers – to send and receive messages at our victorysafaris.com addresses.
- Google – Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- WhatsApp (Meta) and Facebook – if you choose to message us or follow our page, those services handle your information under their own policies.
Where it is needed to arrange your trip, we share only the details required with camps, guides and transport providers who will look after you. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Where your information is processed
Some of our providers process information in other countries, including outside Botswana. We choose established providers and share only what is needed for the service.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records and legal obligations. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. You can ask us to delete your details sooner (see below).
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose. If you agreed to analytics, you can withdraw that agreement at any time with Cookie settings. Email info@victorysafaris.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may also complain to the data protection authority in Botswana. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights set out in the law where you live.
Keeping it safe
We use secure connections (HTTPS), restrict who can open the admin area of this site, and use reputable providers to protect your information. No online service is completely risk-free, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without a parent or guardian involved in the enquiry.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
